- “GO
BLUE”
Manhattan
Beach
- Very close
to El Segundo. Cute downtown area, amazing beautiful houses along the
beachfront walk. A great place to rent a bike and head south to
Hermosa Beach
and
Redondo Beach.
Venice Beach
- Try to go on
a weekend when all of the crazies are out there. Just fun to walk up and down
the boardwalk. Also fun to rent a bike and ride North as far as the bike path
will take you.
Santa Monica
- The pier is
3rd Street Promenade is fun for shopping and people watching. Lots of Street
Performers there at night.
Beverly Hills
Shopping District
- Just fun to
walk around and people watch. Great sushi at
Yu & Mi. Be sure to get
the Spicy Tuna Special #2? It’s the one with Wasabi Chips! You might want to
drive up to the Beverly Hills hotel and have a drink at
The Polo
Lounge…
Open Air tour bus which would cover all of the main
attractions in a ½ day.
Will Rogers
State Park
- Inspiration
Point. Easy hike with incredible ocean & city views.
Griffith Park
Observatory-Where “Rebel without a Cause” was filmed. Pretty cool. You’re
right near the Hollywood Sign and walk around Hollywood if you’re at all
interested (Grauman’s Chinese Theater etc).
The Getty Museum-The building
itself is amazing, the botanical gardens very interesting and some decent
artwork.
La Brea Tar
Pits
- This is
where dinosaurs and the like were actually swallowed up with tar and fossils are
still being excavated! You’re close enough to the
Farmer’s Market at 3rd
& Fairfax. Have lunch at
Loteria for great Mexican food. Have some
Bennett’s Ice Cream while you’re at it.
The Grove, which is an
outdoor shopping mall is adjacent. Looks a lot like Main Street
Disneyland.
Laguna Beach
- About 90
minutes south of LA. Incredible coastline, adorable town, lots of restaurants
& art galleries.
Santa Barbara
- About 90
minutes north of LA. Another beautiful spot. Be sure to visit the
4 Seasons
Biltmore - old So Cal grace!
Walk down
State Street, maybe visit
Mission Santa Barbara?
