Dear Parents:

This may be your last update of the year, as I think we might all like a break in December. The week-end festivities were a fitting end to the championship celebration and beginning of the quest for another successful season. The team brought in a professional photographer, so we expect to see some fun photos to share.

A few things of interest:

East-West game:  The team has an annual scrimmage at the end of the fall season called the East-West game. The coach breaks the team into two squads and puts them on the field for bragging rights.  We are welcome to attend on December 3 at 7:00 p.m.  The coach watches from the spectator side and we enjoy one last dose of lacrosse before the winter break.

BYU game next spring:  The BYU game has been switched from Denver to Ann Arbor, with a new date:  March 28. That makes three week-ends when parents can come in for two straight games.

CCLA Tournament:  Our league tournament is over commencement week-end.  Seniors will not be able to participate in commencement on Saturday.  This happens every few years, and I am pretty sure it is more important to us than to our sons.  Connie Standiford is already busy planning an event for the seniors, so stay tuned.  The plus side of this is that parents can come in for the banquet on Thursday and stay for lacrosse on Saturday and Sunday.

Dues are due:  Most player's families have paid the $500 Booster Club dues and we appreciate it.  We volunteers hate making nagging phone calls, so I suspect John Fowler will start with an e-mail message to those we haven't heard from by next month.  Please see dues page for more information.

Volunteer opportunities:  Ursula Goldberg is updating the Booster Club web site with the volunteer opportunities which remain open after the sign-up at breakfast last Sunday. Feel free to pair up with anyone on any job and then let me know what you want to sign up for.  They are all pretty well-defined tasks, and feel free to write with questions.  Those of you who were holding back waiting to see what was less popular should check it soon.  I'll have a nicer holiday season if the list is filled in.

  • Please note that we will need someone to take over my job (President) after the MCLAs in May.  I am ready to explain what I do to anyone who is interested in exploring this further.
  • Ursula Goldberg will renew the web site subscription for one more year from December 2008 through December 2009 and she will continue in that position.  In the Fall the Booster Club will need someone to step into the web site position and have it ready for January 2010.

Please let me know if you are interested in either position!
